Wellness Training Program

1. the quality or state of being healthy in body and mind, esp. as the result of deliberate effort.
 
2. an approach to healthcare that emphasizes preventing illness and prolonging life, as opposed to emphasizing treating diseases.

 
 
Wellness care focuses it's attention on health, not on sickness.  Our Wellness Training Program is a comprehensive 8 week course of lifestyle modification targeted at the primary cause of disease - "The  Western Lifestyle."   We coach participants through an eight week course of lifestyle modification geared to optimize how and what you think about, what you put into your body and how you move.  These deliberate steps can have dramatic effects on the "risk factors" for the major disease processes ravaging the health and financial well being of our citizens. Health factors such as body weight, cholesterol, triglycerides, inflammation, blood pressure and blood sugar form the bulk of the risk factors associated with most disease. Rather than treating the effects with drugs, our Wellness Training Program gets right to the cause.  In the  8 weeks or our Wellness training Program you will experience a dramatic shift in your health so that you can live the lifestyle of your dreams.
 
 
Wellness exists on a continuum.  Wherever you are on the continuum, as you embrace lifestyle behaviors like healthy alignment, exercise and proper diet, you will move further toward the wellness end of the continuum no matter where you started. If you've  been sick, you'll get better.  If you have not been sick, you further enhance your chances of staying well and your quality and quantity of life.
Isn't this a better approach than taking dangerous medications for problems better addresssed by lifestyle change?  We think so.

Our program focuses on the fact that a strong, vital, and fit body is the best defense against illness. A body that serves you is also your best tool for living the life of your dreams.  It’s a win /win scenario. 

Our program begins with the understanding that wellness is created by managing stress.  There are 3 key stressors one must reduce in order to achieve a state of optimum health:

  1. Physical stress
  2. Biochemical stress
  3. Psychological stress

Our Wellness Training  Program is a scientifically based regimen that begins with a lifestyle assessment in these three dimensions.  The assessment includes blood work, strength, cardiovascular and flexibility assessments, posture and alignment analysis, psychological stress profile, and body composition analysis. 

This information is compiled and entered into a formula that creates one number from 0-100 called your "Wellness Quotient", or WQ.  A Wellness Quotient of 100 is theoretically perfect wellness.  Thirty five or lower is “very challenged” while numbers above 80 are in the wellness range.  Participants are given a customized wellness program of alignment, exercise, nutrition and stress management.  They are re-assessed every two weeks during the 8 week period.   At 8 weeks we repeat all the parameters and determine if you are ready for maintenance or need more time to optimize your level or well being.
